How do you become the darling of salon owners from around the world? Cory Couts found a way to do just that by producing an unprecedented series of video interviews with leading figures in the business. To bring his product to the masses, I developed a subscription-based Rails application that served as the platform for the episodes. A system was created to stream the videos in multiple bitrates to adjust to the viewer’s connection speed. The site has since evolved to support mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad and continues to steadily add subscribers.
